MWA’s QUESTIONS TO 2021 NYC MAYORAL CANDIDATES

We asked mayoral candidates ten questions about how they plan to make New York City more compassionate toward musicians, DJs, and venue workers. New York’s independent musicians, DJs, and venue workers deserve a government that works for us, not an elite few. We were particularly interested to hear how these candidates would expand investments in independent workers and directly address our material needs. Compare their responses side-by-side here. 

Note: NYC elections going forward are a bit different than they have been. In a 2019 ballot measure, New Yorkers overwhelmingly approved instituting Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) into our elections. This means that instead of voting for one candidate, voters can indicate up to five candidates in each office category, ranked in an order of their choosing.
